Volunteer Activity at Hebrew Senior Life

KSA recently participated as volunteers in a Passover event hosted by Hebrew Senior Life. This special holiday celebration was dedicated to elderly individuals living with dementia, offering a meaningful opportunity to share time and joy together.
About the Organization
Hebrew Senior Life is a nonprofit organization that provides healthcare, residential support, education, and research services for older adults and individuals with cognitive impairments. Based in the Boston area, the organization is known for its strong commitment to community-based programs and services.
Volunteer Participation
On the day of the event, our club members assisted with a variety of tasks including helping residents move safely, providing support during meals, engaging with them emotionally during activities, and delivering necessary items.
By directly interacting with the residents, we were able to celebrate Passover together in a warm and safe environment.
Reflections
Through this volunteer experience, our members gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of elderly care, while also learning to honor cultural traditions and contribute as active members of the community. We are grateful to have taken part in such a meaningful event and look forward to continuing our involvement in future community service initiatives.
